Moms
Moms.
Grandmothers.
Aunts that care and love like moms.
Friends that take care of us like moms.
What is your fondest memory of your mom?
I remember how she taught me how to sew. My mom was many things but excelled as an alteration specialist.
My first lesson was helping her replace zippers on garments at age 5. I would hold one end of the zipper while she held a razor (yes, a razor, not a seam ripper!) and ran it down the join seam.
I was always amazed by how quick she was able to rip it out - without cutting the garment at all!
This went on for a few more years before she finally let me touch a sewing machine. That story is probably best saved for another day.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! To all the mom-like figures in my life, I appreciate and love you.
